THE SPIRITUAL EXERCISES OF ST. IGNATIUS
A Retreat in Everyday Life
A new group is forming for September. Call to register.

The Spiritual Exercises created by Ignatius of Loyola are one of the unique and special time-tested traditions of spiritual transformation in church history. Based on his own conversion experience, the Exercises are designed to be a way of re-discovering God's unique love for us in a heartfelt, experiential way. It is an opportunity to learn again to hear the language of love with which God speaks to us. During this retreat in everyday life, we wlook at the dynamics inherent in the process of the Exercises, practice the prayer format specific to the Exercises and share the prayer experiences of the graces received. This retreat offers a taste of the transforming Exercises as they are lived in the reality of everyday life.

Two weeks of Introduction to the Exercises. Fee: $35
Four sections, each five weeks long for a total of twenty weeks.
Fee: each section is $60 and $40 per spiritual direction session.

      DESIRES OF THE HEART
A Professional Day for all Pastoral Ministers
Bob Howlett
December 12, 2008

A deepening awareness and nurturing of our deepest desires are keys to the inner journey. As we reflect on the source of these desires, we will consider how to be with them in our more contemplative moments. Our holy longing, which Ronald Rolheiser writes about, connects us with all others on the journey. Particular focus is given to help participants not only gain deeper personal insight, but also to explore desires as revealed in the hearts of those they companion. We look at how a truly authentic inner journey leads to transformation of perception and a more faithful living of the gospel message.

Bob Howlett, our presenter, is a certified pastoral counselor and spiritual director. His experience in the field of spirituality includes leading retreat, presenting workshops, and spiritual direction.
